How to get the most out of spareX.

How do I list a spare part for sale?

Tap Sell from the menu. Tap the 🎤 Speak button and say the part, vehicle make/model, and how many you have — in English, Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, or Kannada — to auto-fill the form, or add up to 6 photos (our AI will try to auto-fill the title, category, and vehicle from the first one). Then fill in price, quantity, and condition. If the part came from a vehicle you've registered under My Account → Vehicles, you can link it there so buyers see everything pulled from that car. Adding the part number (if you know it) also lets buyers find the same part under other listings.

How do I register a dismantled vehicle?

If you're parting out a whole vehicle, go to My Account → Vehicles → Add Vehicle. Add several photos (front, rear, engine bay), the make/model/year, and optionally the VIN, color, and odometer reading. Once saved, every part you list can be linked to it, so buyers browsing one part can see everything else available from the same vehicle.

What is the part number field for?

If you know the OEM or aftermarket part number printed on the part, add it when listing. Any other listing with the exact same part number will show up on each other's page as an interchangeable option — useful since the same part is often sold under different vehicle names.

How do I browse and search for parts?

Go to Browse to see every listing and request in one feed. Use the search box plus the Category, District, Make, and Year filters to narrow things down — search also matches make, model, year, and part number, so typing any of those works even without picking it from a filter. Add a min/max price to only see listings in your budget, and use Sort to order results by newest or price.

I can't find a part — what do I do?

Tap Request, describe the part and your vehicle (brand, model, year), and your budget. Sellers browsing the Requirements tab can see your request and contact you directly.

How do I contact a seller or requester?

Every listing and request shows Call and WhatsApp buttons wherever a phone number is available — tap either to reach out directly. spareX doesn't have in-app chat yet, so all communication happens over phone or WhatsApp.

How do I manage stock and record a sale?

In My Account → Listings, mark an item Booked once a buyer commits, then Confirm Sale once it's paid for — this updates your remaining stock and records the sale for your Dashboard, which tracks revenue, profit, and units sold.

How do reviews work?

After dealing with a seller, buyers can leave a star rating and comment on that listing's page. Reviews are tied to the seller, so they build up a reputation across all their listings — you can't review your own listing.

How does my district/location work?

Your district is set automatically from your location when you register, and it's applied to every listing and request you post. Buyers can filter by district to find parts near them — so keep your profile district accurate in User → Profile if you move.

Where do I find my listings, requests, and vehicles?

Tap My Account from the menu — Listings, Requests, and Vehicles are now tabs on one page instead of three separate menu items.

What's the difference between a personal vehicle and a scrap vehicle?

When you register a vehicle under My Account → Vehicles, choose 'My own vehicle (in use)' for a car you actually drive — it's just a record, not for selling parts — or 'Scrap — parting out for sale' for a vehicle you're breaking down to sell parts from, which unlocks linking spare listings to it.

What are Workshops for?

Workshops is a directory of repair and dismantling shops. If you break down or need somewhere to send a vehicle you can't handle yourself, tap Workshops → Find workshops near me to see nearby shops sorted by real distance on a map, along with how many vehicles each can take in. Workshop owners can list themselves — with their location and capacity — from the same page.
